Club Fitting By Certified Professionals
If you're not playing with equipment that is fit to your swing, you're not playing to your potential. Imagine how easy golf could be if the problem is with your clubs, not with the way you swing them!
We offer the most extensive outdoor, on the driving range custom-fitting capability.
It is vitally important to see ball flight - and you can do that on our 200+ yard range.
Only you will select which clubs feel best to you (& your budget) - without sales pressure or brand-specific direction. All this and we feature a LOW PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE on everything we sell. Please ask a sales associate for details.
We are certified fitting centers for the following major brands. TaylorMade, Cleveland, Mizuno, Titleist, Cobra, Ping, and Callaway. We are one of the only facilities in the tri-state area to have a Callaway Opti-Fit fitting cart with interchangable heads and staffs, giving you thousands of custom combinations to try on site.We have hundreds of fitting woods and irons so that, in most cases, you’ll get to hit and see the ball flight of the club(s) fit to your specifications. This applies to the many brands we fit for men, women and even hard-to-find left-handed clubs. In addition to fitting new clubs, we also offer Retro-Fitting Services for your existing clubs to determine if you would benefit from adjustments or a club change.
Why should you be fit for clubs?
If the clubs you're currently using are inappropriate for your swing, an array of errant shots may arise. The wrong shaft length or flex may cause lack of distance, hooks or slices. Playing with the wrong lie will have an effect on your trajectory, or can cause pulls, pushes, hooks or slices. The grip size can affect the way you hold the club, and may cause hooks or slices or too much tension in your hands.
Think you're not good enough?
Actually, it's just the opposite. A highly-skilled player can compensate for ill-fit equipment better than a lesser-skilled player. In fact, it may be the equipment that is holding you back from reaching your potential. Many players see significant improvement in their game with new equipment or adjustments to their existing clubs.
Aren't custom-fit clubs expensive?
Contrary to popular belief, it does NOT cost more to have clubs that are fit to you. Whether you choose in-stock or custom-made clubs, you'll get our 30-day guaranteed low price and we'll stay within your budget. We custom-fits many brands and price ranges of equipment for men and women so that we have something for everyone. Saving money on clubs is never a good reason to play the wrong equipment. Remember, we take trade-ins for your existing clubs to help you offset the cost of new ones.
Who should fit you?
Trust only those who are certified club fitters. These professionals have been trained to collect and analyze data about individual swings and translate the information to proper specifications for customized clubs. Major manufacturers such as the ones we sell provide hours of training on each of their specific products and fitting systems.
What happens in a custom fitting session?
A custom fitting session usually takes about a half-hour, although we'll work with you for as long as it takes for you to be satisfied. You'll team with one of our certified fitters to find clubs that feel good to you. You'll test a variety of styles and shaft flexes from different manufacturers, using face and sole tape to indicate your points of impact and swing path. We use a launch monitor system to compare individual club performance, calculate ball spin rates, launch speeds and angles, and verify what you feel and what we see in determining the clubs with optimal performance for you.
Why is club-testing better at a driving range?
Unlike stores where you hit directly into a net, testing clubs at a driving range like ours allows you to actually see where the ball goes. Ball flight results are extremely important in determining proper club fit. Many times it appears you've hit the ball straight, only to see it hook or fade before landing. You simply cannot see this hitting into a net or cage.
How do I schedule a fit?
In an effort to provide the proper amount of time and individual attention, we offer clubfitting by appointment only.
What happens after a fit session?
You'll never be pressured to make a purchase. We keep your personal specifications until you're ready to make a decision. Even after you buy, we keep your specifications on file so that you can add or replace a club to your set at any time. If you choose in-stock clubs, you're out practicing on the range right away. Custom-made clubs are usually shipped within 10 days from order placement at the manufacturer.
Full Service Club Repair
Put your clubs in the hands of someone you can trust to do the job right. Our club repair specialists have extensive training in all aspects of club-building and can help you select the proper changes for your equipment. We've created a special club repair workshop within our pro shop - another indication of our dedication and service to all our customers' equipment needs.
Re-gripping guaranteed in 48 hours
When and why should clubs be re-gripped? After 20 rounds or every six months, whichever comes first. Think of grips like the oil in your car: change your grips for optimum performance. Clubs with worn grips will slip in your hands, causing open or closed club faces that result in hooks or slices. Incorrectly sized grips may cause you to grip the club too tightly, causing tension in your hands and loss of distance.
New technology allows companies to manufacture grips in a variety of sizes, colors and degrees of firmness. We'll help you determine if your current grips are the correct size for you and help you select new ones to your liking. Ask about special grips for players with arthritis.
How to pick and why to change shafts? Every player has an optimum shaft for their swing. Your personal specifications for proper weight and flex can be determined through a club fitting session. The right shaft will give you optimum ball flight, proper spin rate and launch angle. Sometimes a shaft change is more effective and costs less than buying an entirely new club.
